The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation launches the 17th generation of scholars of the Young Talents national program <\/strong><\/h2>\n

January 28, 2025 The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation announces the <\/strong>30 young artists<\/strong><\/a> who will benefit from scholarships within the 17th edition of the national <\/strong>Young Talents<\/em><\/a> programme. The young people, passionate about music and visual arts but with limited financial means, will receive support to explore and refine their creative skills in a stimulating and opportunity-rich environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A decisive step for the future of Romanian art<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

58 visual artists and 68 young musicians, pupils and students of vocational education institutions from across the country, applied for the Young Talents<\/em> scholarship and appeared before the specialized jury to present their artistic portfolio and be evaluated based on their current potential.<\/p>\n

The rigorous selection process debuted with the social analysis of the applications, continued with the artistic evaluation by a jury of specialists, and was finalized with social inquiries.<\/p>\n

The best 30 participants have been chosen. These young people, aged between 14 and 24, come from low-income families but are living proof that talent and passion transcend any barriers.<\/p>\n

15 young people studying clarinet, cello, saxophone, horn, vocals, oboe, flute, piano, bassoon, and 15 young people studying fashion design, painting, graphics, photo-video, or textile arts and design will benefit, over the course of a calendar year, from individual scholarships of up to 2,000 Euro, mentoring sessions, intergenerational masterclasses, training to develop skills necessary for performance, as well as promotion opportunities within events organized by the Foundation and its partners. The young scholars study at arts and music high schools and universities in Bucharest, Bac\u0103u, Boto\u0219ani, Ia\u0219i, Piatra Neam\u021b, and Timi\u0219oara.<\/p>\n

Remarkable personalities support the new generations<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The jury was composed of remarkable personalities from the artistic and academic environment, who will also accompany the scholars as mentors throughout the project: Tiberiu Soare \u2013 conductor, Verona Maier \u2013 pianist, Mihaela I\u0219pan \u2013 soprano, Rafael Butaru \u2013 violinist, Emil Vi\u0219enescu \u2013 clarinetist, in the Classical Music category, and Ileana Dana Marinescu \u2013 visual artist, Carmen Apetrei \u2013 graphic artist, Ion Anghel \u2013 painter, Virgil Scripcariu \u2013 sculptor, Cristian Samfira \u2013 designer, in the Visual Arts category.<\/p>\n

The Royal Foundation thanks the jury members for their involvement and generosity, as well as the Bucharest National Opera for hosting the judging process for the classical music category.<\/p>\n

The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation announces the names of the 30 scholars selected to be part of the 16th edition of the national Young Talents program. The artists will be supported in developing their artistic careers in the fields of music and visual arts, providing a solid platform to explore and refine their creative skills in a stimulating and opportunity-rich environment.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now in its 17th year of existence, the national Young Talents<\/em> programme has so far supported 440 scholarships awarded to talented young people, who have also benefited from mentoring and promotional opportunities. Many of them have achieved extraordinary performances nationally and internationally, becoming laureates of prestigious international competitions and being applauded and admired today in the cultural capitals of the world for their music and art. Recognized four times as the best Art and Culture programme in Romania at the Civil Society Gala, the project creates equal opportunities for artists at the beginning of their journey, demonstrating that talent can be cultivated and supported regardless of social circumstances.<\/p>\n

About the Young Talents Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n

The national Young Talents<\/em> programme, run by the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation, was launched in 2009 with the aim of supporting and promoting talented young artists who come from low-income families and who need financial support to reach their true potential and express their talent. What differentiates the Young Talents<\/em> programme from other projects that offer scholarships is its holistic approach, focused on the development and affirmation of these emerging artists. In addition to financial support, the young people receive guidance from valuable mentors, training through masterclasses, and benefit from very important promotional opportunities, all of which create a launching platform for an artistic career.\n\nTo date, 440 scholarships have been awarded to talented young people at the beginning of their journey, who study music or visual arts in high schools and universities in Romania, helping them overcome financial difficulties and continue to express their artistic value.
