This year's theme is <strong>INTERGENERATIONAL, <\/strong><strong>and<\/strong><strong> registrations<\/strong> can be made on the <a href=\"https:\/\/fundatiaregala.ro\/en\/evenimente-si-campanii\/conferinta-ziua-varstnicului\/\">conference's official webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Organized on the occasion of the International Day of Elderly People, the event takes place in the presence of <strong>Her Majesty Margareta,<\/strong>President of the Royal Foundation and <strong>Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia<\/strong>, member of the Foundation's Steering Committee; and <strong>the Minister of Labor, Family, Youth, and Social Solidarity<\/strong>, <strong>Petre-Florin Manole<\/strong> and it brings together 200 people: <strong>representatives from <\/strong>the field of social assistance, public institutions, central and local authorities, members of civil society, companies with services dedicated to elderly people, doctors, psychologists, and more.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is <strong>moderated by Mugurel M\u0103rg\u0103rit, Executive Director of the Foundation<\/strong> and is <strong>approved as a continuous professional training program<\/strong> by the National College of Social Workers, and the\u00a0<strong>social workers registered in the College receive 2 professional credits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Impact report and major themes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The topics addressed during <\/strong>the event <strong>are meant to bring inspiration and contribute to increasing the quality of life for elderly people through successful examples proposed from across the country by <\/strong>practitioners, specialists, or authorities,<strong> such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>the intergenerational approach for elderly people through <strong>the launch<\/strong> <\/em><strong><em>of the report on the impact of the intergenerational model applied <\/em><\/strong><em>in the Generations Centers, 10 years after the implementation of this social innovation<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>current trends and challenges in the field of senectitude,<\/em><\/strong><em>estimates for Romania from a sociological perspective, from state institutions, or from those at the grassroots level<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>the strategy regarding long-term care and active aging<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>the top needs of elderly people recorded at the Elderly Helpline during the 10 years of the<\/em><\/strong><em> social service's existence<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>the most <strong>innovative and effective solutions at a national level for the assistance provided to dependent elderly people <\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>active aging activities and initiatives for elderly people,<\/em><\/strong><em> such as supportive mobile applications, socialization for elderly people, and the \"third age\" in the approach of companies.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>an interaction <strong>and exchange space for the community of specialists<\/strong> active in social work<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>remarkable elderly people who have managed to remain relevant to society until an advanced age<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Inspirational guest: Acad. Dr. Georgeta Filitti<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Acad. Dr. Georgeta Filitti, historian, researcher, publicist, writer, and translator, will share with those present <\/strong>the values and principles that have guided her through different stages of life, including the present. Seats are offered to 120 elderly people supported through the Foundation's social projects \u2014 <em>the Elderly Helpline, Generations Centers <\/em>and<em> the Elderly Fund \u2014<\/em> and other organizations in Bucharest, with the aim of preventing isolation and combating loneliness.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"659\"><strong>3<\/strong><strong>0 September, 2025 <\/strong><strong>\u2013 Launch <\/strong><strong>of the Top Needs of Elderly People in Romania and solutions offered to them<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The launch takes place within the <strong><em>\"Best Practices for a Beautiful Seniorhood\". <\/em><\/strong>conference. It will include information regarding the demographic and social context at national and international levels, as well as statistical data collected over 10 years of operation of the licensed social service <em>the Elderly Helpline project.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"659\"><strong>October 1, 2025 -<\/strong> <strong>Material aid action for elderly people benefiting from the Elderly Fund program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>100 elderly people in Bucharest, beneficiaries of the program affected by loneliness and financial problems, will receive visits from 30 Foundation volunteers and packages prepared and distributed by them containing basic food items, dairy, and sanitary and hygiene products offered by the Foundation's sponsors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October<\/strong><strong>2,<\/strong><strong> 2025 - Socialization meal in Bucharest for approximately 30 elderly people affected by loneliness <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Elderly people are invited<\/strong> to Hanu\u2019 Berarilor, an action from the series organized to create socialization opportunities for senior beneficiaries of the <em>the Elderly Helpline project.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"659\"><strong>September 26 \u2013 October 5 \u2013 Intergenerational actions in the Generations Centers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>150 elderly people alongside children from the <em>Generations Centers<\/em> celebrate the International Day of Elderly People together through artistic activities, games, museum visits, spiritual evenings, creative workshops, and intergenerational exchanges that bring gratitude and joy. Children prepare cards, songs, gifts, or festive moments for elderly people, while they share stories and experiences and spend quality time with the little ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 30 \u2013 October 2 \u2013 Material support and socialization actions in the counties of Sibiu, Maramure\u0219, Mure\u0219, and Vrancea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Material and emotional support will be provided around the International Day of Elderly People for 550 vulnerable elderly people in the localities of Sibiu (Sibiu county), M\u0103r\u0103\u0219e\u0219ti (Vrancea county), Baia Mare (Maramure\u0219), Tg. Mure\u0219, and Reghin (Mure\u0219 county) through local actions supported by 5 NGOs receiving grants for this purpose from the Royal Foundation through the <em>The Fund for the Elderly<\/em>program.
