As a result, Romania loses every year dozens of young talents who could otherwise become cultural ambassadors. Romania needs art! In response to this issue, the Royal Margareta of Romania Foundation created, in 2009, a national program to support, guide, and promote these talented young artists from low-income families who need financial support to reach their true potential and express their talent. Thus, through 470 scholarships, young people aged between 14 and 24, studying music or visual arts in high schools and universities in Romania, have been supported to overcome financial hardship and continue expressing their artistic value. EUR 2.2 million have been invested in Romania’s artistic future. The program Young Talents program is recognized as the Best Arts and Culture Program in Romania, being a four-time laureate of the Civil Society Gala.
