HOW DO WE HELP CHILDREN?
We provide children with school supplies, educational materials, digital equipment, and internet access
We contribute to the daily meals of children living in precarious conditions through products, catering, or social vouchers
We help children with their homework or exam preparation with the support of senior volunteers
We cover the need for clothing, footwear, hygiene, and sanitary products
We offer psychological and emotional counseling to children affected by their life challenges and environment
We organize educational or vocational workshops and clubs through the involvement of online mentors
We support after-school social centers to provide educational aid to children in disadvantaged communities
We involve children in holiday programs or organize summer camps for them

SOFIA’S STORY
A father prepares his little girl for a new day of first grade. He ties her pigtails with dizzying speed because mornings are always a rush! Even so, he doesn’t forget to pin two pink hair clips and smiles, satisfied with the final result. Săndel has been raising Sofia alone since she was 4 years old. He chose her name himself, after her maternal grandmother. When you ask him how he manages on his own with a small girl, his eyes fill with tears. There was so much to learn and endure since Mom left for the eternal world… He cooks almost anything, has all the patience in the world, knows how to match clothes, and how to draw cats.
For some time now, however, the life of Sofia and her single father has become gentler since they found out about the Generations Center. Here, Sofia is safe; she comes after school, has lunch with the other children, does her homework, and feels valued and loved. Our colleagues, the senior volunteers, and the other children look after her like the apple of their eye. With the help of a psychologist, she is trying to slowly overcome the loss she had to endure at far too young an age.
Alongside kind people like you, every year we help 2,000 children in difficult life situations to stay in school and build a future better than their present.
ABOUT MARGARET OF ROMANIA ROYAL FOUNDATION
With 36 years of experience in the social field, The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation has developed a national program for social assistance and access to education to support children in very difficult life situations. Through the Special Fund for Children, rapid and direct financial aid is provided to children coming from foster care or left in the care of relatives, those who have ill parents or are raised by a single parent, come from large families, are neglected, or whose health is at risk of deteriorating. Our goal is to ensure they do not drop out of school, that they are not lost because of the environment they come from, and that they successfully integrate into the community.
Through your donation and the involvement of other people of goodwill, we manage to support education where poverty and vulnerability risk stealing this chance from wonderful children. We do not let them abandon their future!
