TIMELINE
The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation was established in 1990 by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Crown, together with King Michael I, in response to the social and moral needs of post-communist Romania. Initially, the foundation developed emergency humanitarian and educational projects for children, young people and vulnerable families, focusing on dignity, solidarity and community rebuilding. Over time, its interventions became professionalised and evolved into long-term programmes, developed in partnership with schools, NGOs and local authorities.
