OBJECTIVE

Supporting elderly people from disadvantaged communities through direct intervention in Bucharest, as well as by funding NGOs across the country that develop social services and senior-friendly communities. The program aims to reduce isolation, poverty, and social exclusion through an intergenerational approach.

BENEFICIARIES

The Elderly Fund was launched in March 2020 as an emergency fund to address the urgent needs of elderly people in Romania and to manage the social isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The Elderly Fund supports seniors from all areas of the country, especially those affected by loneliness, limited physical mobility, poor health, poverty, or social exclusion—difficult situations that have been further exacerbated in the current context.
