Entrepreneurial Development Program for Emerging and Professional Artists in the Creative and Cultural Sectors

  • 120 emerging and professional artists from the creative and cultural sectors are invited to take part in workshops on entrepreneurship, project management, and online marketing in December.
  • 40 of them will benefit from individual consultancy to develop a personalized business plan.

The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation is implementing the project “Young Talents – Supporting Artists and Professionals in the Creative and Cultural Sectors” through which emerging and professional artists will develop their entrepreneurial skills by participating in workshops on entrepreneurship, project management, and online marketing.

Between 4–19 December, three workshops will be organized for emerging and professional artists from the creative and cultural fields, aged 18–65, who are interested in developing the skills needed to launch entrepreneurial cultural projects or start-ups in the creative and cultural sectors.

The entrepreneurship workshop will introduce participants to cultural and creative entrepreneurship and outline the stages of developing a business plan. Participants in the online marketing workshop will gain access to information to help them promote the projects they are involved in. Topics include an introduction to online marketing for the cultural and creative sectors, innovative approaches to branding and web design, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Social Media Marketing. Participants will get an introduction to project management, project writing by defining goals and objectives, activity planning, setting indicators, and budget development by participating at the project management workshop.

All three workshops will be delivered by trainers with experience in professional activities in entrepreneurship, project management, and online marketing. Participants will have access to a range of dynamic activities such as presentations, hands-on activities, simulations, role-playing, individual practical exercises, and team exercises. At the end of each workshop, participants will receive certificates of participation and will be informed about the opportunity to access the second stage of the entrepreneurship program, namely receiving consultancy to develop a business plan for launching a start-up.

Participation in the entrepreneurship program is free of charge, and those interested can find more details HERE about how to apply.

The project Young Talents – Supporting Artists and Professionals in the Creative and Cultural Sectors runs from September 2021 to August 2022 and aims to support the sustainable and innovative development of Romania’s cultural and creative industries by stimulating aptitudes and developing the skills of young visual artists and musicians. The project also seeks to ensure knowledge transfer from the European level to the local level through exchange of experience, mobility programs, and initiatives such as contemporary art seasons in the form of concerts and exhibitions, through bilateral cooperation with P1 – Nedland Kultur (Norway). The project is funded by the EEA Grants 2014–2021 under the RO-CULTURA Programme. The total value of the project is RON 963,678 (€195,809.81), of which the non-reimbursable funding amounts to RON 867,310.20 (€176,228.83).
