Exceptional Musicians on the Stage of the Romanian Athenaeum at the Royal Charity Concert on October 25

The Royal Charity Concert, organized by the Margareta Royal Foundation of Romania, one of the longest-running and most successful fundraising events in the country, returns to the Romanian Athenaeum on October 25 for its 14th edition.

This remarkable musical evening brings together outstanding Romanian musicians in support of the country’s talented young artists and will take place in the presence of the Romanian Royal Family. Tickets are available at fundatiaregala.ro/concert-regal.

Every year, this prestigious event attracts art supporters, including diplomats, cultural personalities, business leaders, donors, and sponsors of the Margareta Royal Foundation. The Romanian Athenaeum traditionally serves as the home of authentic values and generosity. The noble purpose of the gala is to provide merit-based scholarships to talented young artists with limited financial means, offering them the opportunity to develop their artistic gifts. Attendees will enjoy an evening of exceptional music while witnessing the meaningful impact of their support.

This year, the Royal Charity Concert features tenor Ioan Hotea and mezzo-soprano Martiniana Antonie, performing alongside the Romanian Youth Orchestra, conducted by Gabriel Bebeșelea.

Ioan Hotea is a world-renowned tenor and prize-winner of prestigious competitions, including Hariclea Darclée 2015, Grand Prix, and Operalia Plácido Domingo, London 2015. He debuted at the Royal Opera House in London in 2016 and has been engaged at the Wiesbaden Theatre in Germany since 2015

Martiniana Antonie is one of the brightest voices of her generation, acclaimed this year for her role as Rosina at the National Theater Mannheim. Her career was significantly shaped by the Tinere Talente scholarship program, which supported her at a crucial moment

Gabriel Bebeșelea is among Romania’s most talented conductors, invited by renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He serves as Principal Conductor at the Transylvania State Philharmonic in Cluj-Napoca and the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest

“It is a great honor to conduct the Royal Concert for the third time. This concert has always celebrated generosity. The Margareta Royal Foundation, through hundreds of scholarships awarded to Romania’s most talented young artists, plays a decisive role in our cultural life. The Romanian Youth Orchestra, featuring many of our scholarship recipients, is the perfect ensemble for this event. Ioan Hotea represents the excellence of Romanian opera worldwide, while Martiniana Antonie, a former beneficiary of Tinere Talente, demonstrates the concrete impact our programs have on young talent,” shares conductor Gabriel Bebeșelea.

Founded in 2008 by cellist Marin Cazacu, the Romanian Youth Orchestra gathers the country’s finest young musicians for a unique artistic experience and has quickly gained international acclaim. This year marks its seventh invitation to the YoungEuroClassic Festival in Berlin, one of the world’s leading cultural events.

Romania needs art!

Classical music enthusiasts can actively support talented young artists by attending the Royal Charity Concert or by sponsoring the Tinere Talente program. Funds raised provide scholarships, mentorship, and crucial promotion for emerging artists.

Over time, donations from this concert have exceeded €1,800,000, funding 410 scholarships for talented youth from low-income backgrounds, many of whom have achieved national and international recognition. Tinere Talente has been recognized four times as the Best Art and Culture Program in Romania, including a 2022 award at the Civil Society Gala.

The Royal Charity Concert will be broadcast live on TVR and Radio România Muzical.
