Innovative and Effective Solutions for a Happy Third Age at the National Conference “Best Practices for a Beautiful Old Age”

The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation and Enayati Medical City are organizing, on Thursday, September 30, the 6th edition of the national conference“Best Practices for a Beautiful Old Age”, to mark the International Day of Older Persons.

In Romania, over 3.8 million people aged over 65 currently live in the country, according to the INSSE report of January 1, 2021, and unfortunately the phenomenon of demographic ageing continues to intensify. The demographic ageing index increased from 120.8 in January 2020 to 123.9 elderly persons per 100 young people in January 2021.

The conference “Best Practices for a Beautiful Old Age” is the only event in Romania that brings to the public the latest information in the field of ageing, provided by experts active in the social sector. The event is hosted by Enayati Medical City, both with in-person attendance in the conference hall and live online streaming.

The national conference is addressed to specialists from NGOs, public institutions, private services, doctors, companies with products and services dedicated to the elderly, CSR managers, and brings forward practical, proven solutions for improving the quality of life of seniors, which participants can implement in their own communities.

Current trends and statistics regarding the lives of the elderly in Romania, support services for seniors, legal and desirable standards in residential care centers, opportunities for social participation and community involvement — these are just some of the topics addressed in this edition, aimed at improving seniors’ quality of life through best-practice examples collected from across the country.

In the section dedicated to the needs of the elderly in Romania and the solutions available to them, Elderly Helpline will present data collected over six years of operation, based on the 66,000 interactions recorded with seniors nationwide..
